Leyna is a gorgeous double merle aussie who is fully trained.  She does know how to sit, down, come, go to spot, and stay with sign language. Why does she know sign language?  Leyna is deaf, but a very smart dog. She is very smart, very obedient. She would make a GREAT agility dog even though she is partially blind and deaf.
  

She is what's considered a double merle which accounts for her beautiful coat but comes with disadvantages. Leyna is deaf and also has starburst pupils. She can see fine but her eyes are sensative to light and she has very poor night vision.

She will follow you around the house and will be always found sitting at your feet.  Usually, looking up at you adoringly.   She has been socialized with children.  However, because of her disability, she can not go to a family with children under 8 years of age.  She does quite well with other dogs and cats (she has learned appropriate cat manners).  

Amazingly, she loves to play fetch and will play for hours and hours with you.  In fact, she will meet you at the door with ball or toy in mouth.

She loves water and loves to swim.  Her love of water means that she is simple to bath and will sit quietly as you pour water over her. 

She has already displayed herding abilities.   Because she keeps her eyes on her master, we believe that with the right training, she would make an excellant herder of both sheep and cattle.


Any applicant must have a fully fenced yard and must commit to at least one series of obedience sessions.  A local trainer who is familar with Leyna has agreed to provide 4 free classes for her new owner. 

This is very special, wonderful dog. who is already trained.   She has amazing amount of potential with the right home.  She is ready for the right owner who is willing to commit to her and enjoy a lifetime of all of the love that she can give you.
